Looking back at my work over the decades I see that I have always painted and drew birds. Something about them is magical. The truth is I’d like to be able to fly like that and see far, get above everything, see the bigger picture. Over the last several years I have begun to creating a series that I call “Spirit Birds.” I’m up to around 120. With all the other things I am doing, these Spirit Birds feel like prayers, something sacred, holy. I work on each one until it turns on, comes alive in energy.
